Copacabana Shores

I booked very last minute during busy post Christmas time for 1 night. Location is perfect with short easy stroll to eateries, shops and beach. The room was very dirty. Smelt of Indian food/spices. Kitchen bench, stove and extractor fan thick with grease. I placed a bath towel on mattress to sleep on and did not use their pillow and duvet as were very dirty. Needs a thorough scrub with sugarsoap and bleach and in need of full refresh. Will not stay there again and will not recommend.

If you plan on staying for the security, think again. Also be wary of positive reviews, they are fake. The balcony door couldn't be locked and the security coded entry doors to the property were unlocked every time I used them which also allows access to the secure parking. The note attached to the room doors say any damage to your property will have no more than 100 compensation and putting valuables in the safe is not an option as it was locked when we arrived. The elevator should be avoided at all costs as it shakes terribly and does not feel safe. Staff should work on communication as I discussed late check out on arrival only to receive a knock on the door while in a work meeting at the check out time listed at reception. Fridge was filthy, bathroom products had broken tamper seals and general cleanliness is well below standard. Kitchen items are very sparse, foxtel doesn't work and forget connecting to online streaming instead as its not a smart tv. No clothes dryer in rooms as mentioned online either. The new owners have a lot of work to make this place into a decent hotel and I wish them luck.
